The Collider portal has compiled a ranking of the best and worst animated films from Walt Disney Studios. The list included 57 full-length films. The first place was taken by the cartoon “Pinocchio”, created in 1940. And the last line went to the film “Chicken Little” from 2005.
The cartoon “Pinocchio” is based on the popular 1881 fairy tale “The Adventures of Pinocchio” by Italian writer Carlo Collodi. It is based on the story of a wooden doll. It was the second full-length animated film produced by the studio.
In addition, Pinocchio is the first animated film to win two Oscars. In addition to the statuette in the category “Best Song” and for the best soundtrack “When You Wish On a Star”.
The second place in the rating was “Sleeping Beauty” from 1959. The portal pays special attention to the work of illustrator Eivind Earl. Thanks to him, the film became one of the studio’s most ambitious projects.
Third place, according to the resource, went to the animated film “Fantasy,” filmed in 1940. Walt Disney created Fantasia with Philadelphia Orchestra conductor Leopold Stokowski. Collaboration with the musician made the film one of Disney’s most daring experiments.
Multi-channel sound was used for the first time in the cartoon, and the style of the film gravitates towards abstractionism and avant-garde. In 1942, the cartoon won two Oscars. One of them is “for exceptional contribution to the promotion of sound in cinema.”

The worst film, ranked 57th on the list, was Chicken Little, made in 2005.
