American film critics named the 50 best comedies released in the 21st century. The rating was published in the American edition of Rolling Stone.
The first line of the list was taken by Christopher Guest’s film “Best in Show” The plot centers on a prestigious dog show, where the owners of their four-legged dogs, forgetting about everything, use tricks and various tricks to win.
Filmed in the genre of political satire, the film “In the Loop,” directed by Armando Iannucci, tells the story of modern British-American politicians. It all starts with a phrase about the war by Minister Simon Foster, unsuccessfully dropped in one of the radio programs. A whole cascade of events is instantly launched on both sides of the ocean, the goal of which is to unleash a war in the Middle East. Critics gave this film second place.
In third place is the comedy Bridesmaids, released by Paul Feig in 2011. In the story, Annie, a woman in her thirties, lost her job and soon after that she broke up with her boyfriend. Her friend Lillian is marrying a banker and asks Annie to be her maid of honor. Lillian’s sister Rita, friend Becca, her future husband’s scruffy sister Megan, and wealthy Helen, the wife of Lillian’s groom’s boss, also become bridesmaids.
Next comes Adam McKay’s film Step Brothers, and the top 5 is completed by director Mike Judge’s film Idiocracy.
