How frames of famous films became their posters

Two videos have appeared online showing how footage from famous films was used as the basis for the design of their posters.

This technique was used in the films “Amour” by Haneke, “Spirited Away” by Miyazaki, “Lost in Translation” by Coppola, “Moonrise Kingdom” by Anderson, “Drive” by Refn, “Taxi Driver” by Scorsese, “Barton Fink” by the Coens, “Gravity” by Cuaron and etc.

The first part of this mini-study shows 16 examples of such transformation, and the second – 21.

We previously wrote about other films in which stills became their posters. And also about the 13 most common cliches in movie poster design.
