Lviv is a truly amazing city, there are countless interesting places in it, and among them you can select the best objects, which are recommended to visit by experienced guides.
Rynok Square
It is recommended to start the tour from here. All buildings located on this square are among the architectural and cultural monuments. Once upon a time, a bazaar for merchants was organized here, and festivities were also held on the territory of the square.
City Hall
For three centuries, the entrance here has been guarded by stone statues of lions. Guests of the city should certainly climb the high tower and view Lviv from it.
The Freedom Avenue
The main city street has a length of 350 meters. Along it you can see numerous cottages, made in a wide variety of styles. On the first day in Lviv, it is recommended to come here.
Potocki Palace
The unique building is made in the style of classicism, once it was erected specifically for the reception of foreigners, but today it is accessible to everyone, including the most curious tourists. Inside the Potocki Palace, everything is decorated with relief stucco decoration, marble and gilding. Additionally, guides recommend visiting the chapel with the miraculous icon of the Virgin.
Palace of Kornyakt
Another bright attraction of Lviv with a long history. The palace was built back in the 16th century, the initiator was the Greek merchant Kornyakt. Going here, you can visit not only the castle itself, which now houses the museum, but also the surrounding area.
House of Scientists
A bright representative of the style of castle architecture, once, 100 years ago, a gambling establishment was located here, after which it was closed, and the building was handed over to scientists. And today it remains the property of the education sector.
Opera theatre
Anyone who considers himself an admirer of theatrical art is obliged to visit the opera house. Its interiors deserve the closest attention; there are also numerous paintings, sculptures, and gilded decor. In the immediate vicinity stands the statue of Glory.
Church of John the Baptist
This building is considered one of the most ancient and dates back to the 13th century. It has been repeatedly restored, even completely rebuilt due to the fact that it was significantly damaged due to fires, wars and other disasters.
Church of Saints Olga and Elizabeth
A bright representative of the neo-gothic style. It owes its first name to Elisabeth of Bavaria, and only in 1991 did it begin to be called, as it is called now. The French and North German cathedrals left their mark on the construction.
Armenian Cathedral
Built more than 6 centuries ago, it has been reconstructed several times. Today, the Armenian Cathedral is an architectural complex designed for excursions. Many tourists are attracted by the opportunity to climb the bell tower.
Dominican cathedral and monastery
Its domes are noticeable from afar, once, several decades ago, a museum of history and religion was placed here. Today the church owns both buildings.
Both the monastery and the cathedral are available for inspection by tourists from the inside, everyone can attend a service accompanied by organ music.
Railway station
In 1860, only one was opened here, but soon it alone could not cope with the increasing flow of passengers, and therefore it was replaced by the complex that we can see today, with its spacious halls of different levels of comfort.
Beer Museum
This is an attraction that definitely cannot complain about the lack of attention. The museum began its work in 2005. On an area of more than 600 square meters, you can find three hundred museum samples, ranging from bottles and stickers to barrels of various sizes and get acquainted with the orderly Lviv pani. Tourists can see how a foamy drink is brewed and learn the main secrets of brewers. Naturally, the most interesting hall is also located here – the one where tastings are held, here you can even buy your favorite beer.
Pharmacy Museum
In fact, this pharmacy operates to this day. The museum complex consists of 16 rooms where you can find the most inconceivable objects that were previously used by doctors and pharmacists several centuries ago. One of the halls is represented by a laboratory, while the other is a library, where books contain information only on medical topics.
Shevchenko Guy
A completely unique outdoor museum. By visiting it, you can see a typical Western Ukrainian village. The park complex offers tourists not only standard houses, but also churches and outbuildings. Thus, everyone can plunge into the traditions and culture of different regions of the country. And this is only part of where you can go in the city.
