The word “tattoo” was discovered in the Polynesian islands by the navigator James Cook. He heard it from the lips of the population living there. It is translated as “drawing”.
It is impossible to determine the date of the first body paintings. According to scientists, tattoos could have been applied to the body back in the days of the primitive communal system. Archaeological finds indicate that even in the 5th millennium BC, designs decorating the skin were actively practiced among people. They were especially revered by women.
Currently, the art of tattooing is incredibly popular worldwide. Murals are done not only by representatives of certain cultures, but also by famous personalities, as well as ordinary people.
The main rule of a good tattoo is to choose a unique design that is suitable for the person, as well as a specialist who can properly apply it to the skin.
Today one of the famous masters of body image is Jesse Ricks. The talented tattoo artist lives in Keene, New Hampshire. There, in a private studio, he creates real masterpieces of tattoo art. The master’s works are so unusual that even those who have never been interested in painting on leather admire them.
Jesse has been doing artistic tattooing since 2005. His specialty is 3D color tattoos. To achieve the desired effect of optical illusions, the master uses shadows and geometric shapes. In most cases these are pentagons and squares. As a result, the human body becomes a container of huge and unknown worlds, as if trying to break out. The spectacle is truly incredible, eerie and intriguing!
One image shows an hourglass inside a person, another shows a hand falling apart. Skulls, outer space, eyes. And here in the leg there lives a bird. Stop! Or does it just seem like it? The tattoos come out so real that sometimes it is unclear what is the truth and what is the lie.
The author’s individual style was formed under the influence of the works of representatives of the surrealist movement – Salvador Dali and Maurits Cornelis Escher.
In this post we have posted photographs of the works of a creative artist. Go down below and enjoy the rich imagination of the tattoo artist.
If this is not enough for you, you can look at Jesse’s site and find even more of his unusual drawings there.
