Today the first trailer for Tate Taylor’s The Girl on the Train, based on the bestselling book of the same name by Paula Hawkins, was released. The main role in the film was played by Emily Blunt (“Sicario”, “Edge of Tomorrow”).
The detective story tells about a woman, Rachel, who suffers from alcohol addiction. Every day, from the window of the train she takes to work, she sees a beautiful house and an idyllic couple living in it. Rachel comes up with names for these two and in her fantasy makes up their lives. After some time, the girl who lived in this house disappears. Rachel is the only witness to the crime. But the police don’t trust her because of her addiction to alcohol.
Critics and readers of the original book have often compared it to Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl. The film promises to be released in September-October.
Director Tate Taylor became famous after the film “The Help” (2011), in which he acted as director, producer and screenwriter.
