Lutsk is an ancient and picturesque city founded back in 1085. It combines medieval charm, natural beauty, and the rhythm of modern life. Lubart’s Castle

The symbol of Lutsk, Lubart’s Castle, is one of the oldest and best-preserved castles in Ukraine, dating back to the 14th century. The fortress has three towers: Entrance, Styr, and Vladycha. Some believe they symbolize faith, hope, and love, while others see them as representing the Holy Trinity. Today, the castle houses museum exhibitions.

Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul

Opposite the castle stands a Catholic cathedral built in the 17th century by Italian architect Giacomo Briano. Its architecture blends Renaissance, Baroque, and Classicism. Beneath the church are underground passages where visitors can explore a chapel, ancient frescoes, burial sites, and a well where coins are traditionally tossed for luck.

This Neo-Gothic church is a reminder of German colonization in Volyn during the 19th–20th centuries. Once the main Lutheran parish, it now belongs to the Baptist community. Walking around it, you can spot many fascinating architectural details.

Holy Trinity Cathedral

Built in 1755, this Baroque cathedral impresses with its grandeur. Inside are a massive iconostasis and stunning dome paintings. A small rose garden on the grounds provides a peaceful retreat.

Holovan House

Known as the “House with Chimeras,” sculptor Mykola Holovan’s residence is decorated with over 500 sculptures in styles ranging from antiquity to Baroque. Figures include animals, mythological creatures, saints, and even family members. There is also an Italian-style courtyard with a forge.

In 2012, the “Parade of Planets” sundial was installed on Voli Avenue, working from spring to autumn. Nearby stands a monument to Andriy Kuzmenko, the beloved Ukrainian musician and frontman of the band Skryabin, unveiled in 2016.

Lutsk Zoo

Though modest in size, the zoo is home to more than 150 species of animals and birds, including lions, bears, antelopes, bison, pelicans, and ostriches. In summer, it transforms into a blooming garden. Children can enjoy themed quests and activities here.
