Georgia became the first state which allowed its cinemas to reopen on April 27, 2020. Now Texas followed the trend when governor Gregg Abbott included movie theaters into the list of establishments which can be reopened starting May 1, 2020 along with museums, retail stores and restaurants. However, the major theater chains in Texas are not expected to be open to public at least till July. As for Georgia, looks like very few, if any theaters opened their doors by now. One of the problems for chains is the lack of support from major studios not willing to release their potential blockbusters too soon before people will be ready to overcame their legitimate fears of catching the virus in movie theater.
