Dress code: how to choose the right socks for the office

4 mandatory points that socks must comply with:

• Socks are matched with trousers and shoes. In office etiquette, they should be the same color.
• The black color of the socks is universal. It can be worn with both a suit and jeans.
• Socks cannot be turned up. Never. Even if you really want to.
• It is advisable to buy socks made from natural ingredients, and not from synthetics.
• Optimal fabric composition: 75% cotton, 20% polyamide and 5% elastane. For an evening out – silk, in winter – fine wool. And in all other cases – different variations, depending on the weather and clothing.

4 taboos regarding socks at work:

• Do not wear white. Especially with a suit and shoes in black.
• Do not wear short ones. It is better to wear mid-calf or knee-length socks than to get into an uncomfortable position during a business meeting.
• Cheerful and bright socks with movie characters, rhombus, polka dots or other colorful patterns – not for employees, but for friends. In the office, socks should be dark, solid and without patterns.
• Thick woolen socks – for home, not for work. According to the dress code, socks must be thin.
