Animation studio Illumination presented a trailer for the full-length cartoon “The Secret Life of Pets 2.” The video was published on the YouTube channel.
The plot centers on the life of pets in the absence of their owners. The main character of the first part, the dog Max, finds himself in a veterinarian’s waiting room, where he is surrounded by crazy animals: a hysterical cat, a hyperactive guinea pig, a self-doubting dog and scary twin cats.
After the harassment scandal of Louis C.K., who voiced Max, Illumination replaced the actor – the character is now voiced by Patton Oswalt. He is known for his role as the Koenig brothers in the TV series Agents of Shield and the voice of Remy in the animated film Ratatouille.
“The Secret Life of Pets 2” was directed by the director of the first part and two “Despicable Me” cartoons, Chris Renaud. And the producers were Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy (“Minion”).
The Secret Life of Pets 2 is a sequel to the 2016 film. The first animated film, The Secret Life of Pets, was released in 2016 and grossed $875 million worldwide.
The premiere was initially scheduled for July 3, 2019. And now the official premiere date in the United States is June 17, 2019
