History knows 19 countries whose nominal GDP reached 1 trillion dollars. Seven of them are in Europe, eight in the East and two each in South and North America. Thanks to this achievement, all these states are united in the conditional “Trillion Dollar Club”. Most countries joined this club in the 2000s. The United States became the first country whose GDP exceeded 1 trillion dollars in 1969.

The total GDP of the European Union reached the mark of 1 trillion dollars for the first time in 1972.
The United States became the only country whose GDP over the years exceeded 25 trillion. At the same time, in China, this indicator reached only 19 trillion dollars in 2023. In turn, the EU reached the mark reached by the Celestial Empire back in 2008. This remains the old world maximum in terms of GDP. In Japan, GDP growth stopped at $6 trillion in 2011, and in India and Germany – at $4 trillion in 2024 and 2018, respectively. France and Great Britain did not rise above 3 trillion dollars according to this indicator.
Also, in 1990, the USSR had a GDP of 2.5 trillion dollars.
