Jack Nicholson was born on April 22, 1937 in Manhattan. The path to cinema was opened to him in 1958 by the director of the film “Crybaby Killer” Roger Corman. Nicholson made his debut in the title role of a young criminal who begins to panic after killing teenagers.
Nicholson holds the record for the most Oscar nominations – 12 times, three of which resulted in victory. The actor also received the British Academy of Film and Television Arts award three times, won the Golden Globe Award seven times, and received the US National Board of Film Critics award six times. In 1994, Nicholson was awarded the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Jack Nicholson was married only once – to actress Sandra Knight. In this marriage they had a daughter, Jennifer Nicholson. Jack and Sandra married in 1962, but the couple officially divorced six years later.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)
In 1975, a film adaptation of the cult American novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest was released. In this film, Nicholson’s hero was an insurance company employee who retired. Warren Schmidt began to re-evaluate his life, trying to understand whether he was able to achieve all his dreams in his career, marriage and family life.
The Shining (1980)
