Worldwide FX, the studio that has created graphics for many Hollywood and British films, has published a video showing the work on its latest project – the film “Escobar” starring Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz.
The two-minute cut shows how certain scenes looked on the set and in the final version of the film.
The film “Escobar” is based on the memoirs of journalist Virginia Vallejo, who had an affair with a drug lord. The couple was very close, Virginia knew a lot about Escobar’s business, and the romance itself lasted almost five years – from 1983 to 1987.
The film premiered in 2017 at the Venice Film Festival. Its director is Fernando Leon de Aranoa, an award-winning Spaniard, multiple winner of the Goya Prize and the San Sebastian Film Festival. The director has admitted more than once that when he conceived the film, he immediately saw Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz in the leading roles.
The film by Fernando Leon de Aranoa shows more than ten years of Pablo Escobar’s life – from his meteoric rise to the list of billionaires in the 1980s, when drug cartels established large-scale supplies of cocaine in the United States, to December 2, 1993, when, persecuted by the authorities and having lost influence, Pablo Escobar was killed.
