At the oldest event for lovers of good cinema, the 79th Venice International Film Festival, the viewer saw loud and interesting premieres. For eleven days in September 2022, captivating and long-awaited films were presented to the world community on the Lido.
Golden Lion, the main award of the prestigious film festival, went to the American-produced documentary All The Beauty And The Bloodshed. Directed by Laura Poitras, the story of a woman photographer desperately tries to make Purdue Pharma guilty of distributing and manufacturing opioid painkillers. Nan Goldin herself suffered from a powerful drug that causes drug addiction.

The outrageous film directed by Luca Guadagnino “Bones & All” tells about the love story of a cannibal girl. She goes to look for her father after her mother died. The film has a refined style and sensual beauty that characterizes many of Guadagnino’s works.

“White Noise” directed by Noah Baumbach was a hit with many. An intricate and deep story tells about a man who explores the life of Adolf Hitler. In the film, fear and tragedy are a means of subtle satire on such vital concepts as human mortality and consumerism.

In the picture “The Son” we will see actors – Anthony Hopkins and Hugh Jackman. The idea of director Florian Zeller is to show how the life of the protagonist changes after his ex-wife reappears in life, and not alone, but with a teenage son.

“Blonde” caused a buzz long before the film festival even started. Directed by Andrew Dominic, this is a creative take on the life of American film legend Marilyn Monroe. The viewer will see the inconsistency in the relationship of the famous blonde.

“Eternal Daughter” by Joanna Hogue is of interest to the public. The director is known for her elegant love stories, often based on facts from her own biography. The presented film is a mystical drama with scary stories. Returning to the house where the artist used to live with her family brings to the surface long-forgotten secrets.

“Love life” tells about the prosperous life of the spouses Jiro and Taeko.
They are raising Keita (Taeko’s son). Suddenly, the first husband appears. Now Taeko wants to help him with all her might, as the man feels terrible guilt and pain. In addition, he has nowhere to live, and he does not hear.

Other People’s Children is the last film in our selection. 40-year-old Rachel is doing well: her favorite job, wonderful friends, an exciting hobby. Everything is turned upside down after meeting a friend’s little daughter. It becomes clear to a woman that she does not have the most important thing – a child.
