The Swiss group Nestle topped the ranking of the most expensive food brands in the world for the seventh time in a row. The brand’s value was $20.8 billion this year, which is 7% less than last year.
The second place went to the Lay’s brand, which this time grew in price by 9%, to $12 billion. This allowed the company to rise from third to second place. And the third place went to the Chinese brand Yili, whose value dropped to $11.6 billion, which is 6% less.
The list of the most expensive brands looks like this:

- Danone (-10.2%, up to $8.03 billion) France
- Quaker (+6.5%, up to $7.5 billion) USA
- Kellogg’s (-16.3%, up to $6.1 billion) USA
- Wrigley (+7.5%, up to $6 billion) USA
- Mengniu (-11.1%, up to $5.4 billion) China
- Doritos (+12%, up to $4.6 billion) USA
The most noticeable rise in brand value was demonstrated by the Canadian company Viterra. Over the year, it rose by 37%, up to $1.1 billion. Thanks to this, the company is in 81st place in the rating. However, last year it was not able to break into the top 100 at all.
Overall, the top 100 brands included 43 American companies, 12 Chinese, and six Japanese. The list also included four companies each from Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and India, as well as three each from the UK and Canada.
