“Special Agents on Vacation” (original title – “Mais qui a re-tué Pamela Rose?”) is a 2012 French comedy film directed and written by Kad Merad and Olivier Baroux. The film is a sequel to the 2003 film “Who Killed Pamela Rose?”
Plot of the 2012 film “Special Agents on Vacation”
Former FBI agent Douglas Ripper (Kad Merad) has long since retired and is enjoying a quiet life. However, unexpected news about the resumption of an old case forces him to return to work. Together with his former partner Richard Bullitt (Olivier Baroux), he takes on an investigation that leads them to uncovering a conspiracy against the US President. As the action progresses, the partners find themselves in comical and absurd situations, demonstrating their unpredictability and eccentricity.
The humor in the film is based on a combination of absurdity, parodic references to the spy thriller genre and comical dialogues between the main characters. The partners, with their different personalities and approaches to the matter, create many funny situations: from misunderstandings at the crime scene to ridiculous attempts to solve complex problems. Particular emphasis is placed on their clumsiness and tendency to unexpected and often stupid actions, which turns each scene into a bright performance. Elements such as parodies of classic films and sarcastic jokes make the film light and dynamic.
