Everest, located in the Himalayas, is considered the highest mountain in the world. It reaches 8848 m and it is on its top that the international border between such states as China and Nepal passes. Many people know about successful ascents of Everest, but Chomolungma is also known for its “bloody” rating, more than 260 people died here during attempts to climb.

Baltoro Karakorum
In second place is K2, Baltoro Karakorum, located outside the Himalayas and represented by the ten highest mountains, the main peak of which reaches 8611 m. You can see it on the border between China and Pakistan.
At the moment, 10 different routes have already been laid to the top of K2, but the ascent is quite difficult from a technical point of view, including in comparison with Everest. It is also known that not one of the winter attempts to climb Chogori in winter was unsuccessful.
Kanchenjunga
The third highest peak in the world, located between India and Nepal, the height is 8586 m. Mortality when climbing to the top is more than 23% – this figure is constantly growing, moreover, in Nepal there is even a legend that this mountain is female, which kills all female climbers.
Lhotse
The mountain is also located in the Himalayas, on the border of China with Nepal, it is 8016 m high.
Makalu
It is slightly lower – 8485 m. Makalu is one of the most difficult peaks in terms of climbing. As a rule, about a quarter of the total number of expeditions achieve success, and this, despite the fact that at the moment 17 different routes have been laid to the top.
Cho Oyu
This peak is located on the border of Tibet with Nepal, at a height of 8188 m. It is this peak that is known for the first attempt to climb it without oxygen tanks and masks, and it ended successfully.
Dhaulagiri I
The mountain is located directly in Nepal. Its height is 8167 m. It was first climbed on May 13, 1960, an expedition consisting of citizens of Switzerland, Austria and Nepal conquered the summit.
Manaslu
The peak is also in the Himalayas. It is 8163 m high. It was conquered on May 9, 1956 by members of the Japanese expedition.
Diamir
Nanga Parbat is a mountain with two names, its Islamic name is Diamir, which translates only as “King of the Mountains”. It is 8126 m high. Its main feature is the fact that, like K2, it has never been climbed in winter.
Annapurna I
This peak closes the ranking of the highest 10 mountains in the world. It is located in Nepal. It is 8091 m high. From each of the listed peaks, a stunning landscape opens up.
