The best landscape photos of 2021

For the 2021 Best Landscape Photos competition, 100 images were selected from more than four thousand entries based on their outstanding merits. This annual competition has been running for eight years, and this year’s stunning photograph of Comet Neowise took top honors, as did a selection of images from Cappadocia, Turkey.

In addition to the winners of the competition, there are many photographs that are worthy of attention. From Iceland’s erupting volcanoes to winter forests, these photographs showcase the diversity of landscapes on our beautiful planet. “It fascinates me that what captivates one photographer can be perceived completely differently by another,” said jury chairman Peter Eastway. “For some, capturing nature at its most vibrant is a reward in itself.”
