Only a true master of his craft is capable of portraying a person in motion and doing it as beautifully and naturally as possible. Hanna Ullman, a well-known photographer, was able to do this as well, who managed to effectively photograph all the expression and drama of the dance in all its manifestations in dynamic portraits of individual performers. The cobbled Spanish streets and embankments of Marbella acted as a background, which inspired her for this original project. The objects of the photo are living people who give part of their lives and hearts to the art of dance.
The expression of dance, multiplied by the dynamism of the modern streets of Spain – what came out of it
In the works of Ullman, you can find the most contradictory feelings, which the author manages to achieve thanks to the ability to capture how dancers merge with the urban environment, sometimes performing the most virtuosic tricks in ordinary clothes. However, there were also those representatives of the fair sex who dressed in swimsuits, which give them even greater grace, and even pointe shoes, in which they appeared in completely unusual places for this, for example, on the beach. And even the sand in this case has become an integral part of the dance, sparkling and flaring in the sun when the dancer simply throws her head back, shaking her hair. And there are many such unexpected moments when a person in motion harmonizes with nature, complementing it.
The creative possibilities of such an original shooting could not help but inspire Anna Ullman, who admits that she used to really enjoy taking photos outdoors, thus creating the most creative photos and capturing the most interesting moments. The impetus for this direction was a photograph she accidentally saw of a ballerina dancing on the street, whose flexibility and grace struck the master to the core. The idea of combining two talents – a dancer and a photographer – was born almost instantly and, as it turned out, this symbiosis opened up simply limitless possibilities for creativity.
Despite all the technical complexity of this type of photo, Ullman notes that it is a very exciting activity related to the planning of the picture, but also inseparable from the element of spontaneity. Each dancer impresses with his uniqueness and inspires with the most original ideas.
Dramatic performers of the dance were depicted by Anna Ullman in many sexy photos, in which everyone can discover something new, remember the old or learn about the unknown.
