The decision to open Tenet only in theaters worldwide paid off. Albeit partially. The Christopher Nolan’s film which cost 200 million to produce, opened in North America with 20.2 million dollars in 2800 venues in its first 3 days of release. 35% of the US theaters were still closed and the capacity of the open ones was reduced by 50%. In normal circumstances the box office would be around $50 million. Worldwide haul was $146.2 million in 2 weeks. This first weekend of release in China brought $30 million.
