In the story, a young French woman turns to a psychotherapist for help. Passion flares up between the characters, but the new lover has his own secrets. The film received a rental rating of 18+.<\/p>\n
The world premiere of the film took place as part of the main competition program of the 70th Cannes Film Festival.<\/p>\n
The main role in the film was played by Marine Vacth, who had already starred with Ozon: their first collaboration was the melodrama \u201cYoung and Beautiful.\u201d \u201cFour years ago, when I was just dreaming about the project, Marin was still too young for this role. But by the time I returned to Two-Faced Lover, she had had a child and was a young woman. And we were both interested in working together again,\u201d Ozon recalls. The role of psychotherapist Paul was played by J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Regnier, a regular actor of the Dardenne brothers (“Boy with a Bicycle”, “Saint Laurent. The Style Is Me”).<\/p>\n
Francois Ozon is one of the main French directors of our time, a two-time nominee for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and a winner of the Berlinale and San Sebastian awards.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuplicitous Lover\u201d is the author\u2019s return to the erotic thriller genre, which, together with the films \u201cCriminal Lovers\u201d and \u201cSwimming Pool,\u201d brought him wide fame. The film is based on the story \u201cThe Lives of Twins\u201d by American writer Joyce Carol Oates.
