In 2011, R\u00f6fn received the prize for best director at Cannes for the film Drive. And in 2013, he showed his provocative drama \u201cOnly God Forgives\u201d at the film forum.<\/p>\n
After watching \u201cThe Neon Demon,\u201d critic Anton Dolin wrote: \u201cAfter \u201cOnly God Forgives,\u201d his friends probably said: \u201cOld man, come on, it can\u2019t be worse!\u201d And he was like, offended: \u201cHow is this impossible? We bet it\u2019s possible?\u201d And he won the bet.”<\/p>\n
Critics’ opinions of the film were sharply divided. According to Deadline, fans of Refn\u2019s work will be even more impressed by this film than the previous one.
