Designer Vugar Efendi edited a two-minute clip in which he compared classic paintings and frames from famous films. Thus, he showed how modern directors borrow visual images from classical painting.<\/p>\n
The video draws parallels, for example, between the film \u201cThe Adventures of Baron Munchausen\u201d (1988) and the textbook painting \u201cThe Birth of Venus\u201d by Sandro Botticelli<\/a>. And also between \u201cThe Last Supper\u201d by Leonardo da Vinci and \u201cInherent Vice\u201d by Paul Thomas Anderson<\/a>.<\/p>\n In total, the clip contains eight excerpts from films by Quentin Tarantino<\/a>, Lars von Trier, Alfred Hitchcock, Terreance Malick, Ridley Scott, Michael Mann, as well as the two aforementioned directors.<\/p>\n As Efendi himself notes, some excerpts from films look more picturesque than the original paintings<\/a>.<\/p>\n
