This is historically the third result from opening on the North American market (USA and Canada together).

This weekend, Spider-Man drew audiences to theaters like it hasn’t in at least two years and broke box office records.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is not only the most anticipated movie of the pandemic, but also the most anticipated since Star Wars: Skywalker. East – Soared this weekend with an opening weekend gross of $253 million from 4,336 screens, including $50 million from Thursday night previews, surpassing even the wildest expectations. It’s the biggest December first weekend of all time ($257.7 million). Not to mention, it became the highest-grossing movie of 2021 in a single weekend, surpassing Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings with $224.54 million in just three days.

Internationally, No Way Home grossed $334.2 million in 60 countries, bringing its global weekend haul to a Pandemic (and indeed!) staggering $587.2 million, the highest ever for Columbia Pictures and the third-highest ever time. In Western Europe, where No Way Home grossed $113 million, the United Kingdom was the top country with a five-day gross of $41.4 million, the fourth-highest grosser of all time in that country.

The Latin American region collected $79.5 million, including $32.4 million in Mexico, while Asia collected $74 million, led by South Korea, where the film opened with $23.7 million. In Australia, the picture collected about $18.7 million (the third biggest opening of all time), while in Eastern Europe, No Way Home collected $26.9 million, including $17.4 million in Russia ( the fifth highest total opening in history).

And of course, the film’s global launch is the best opening weekend in Sony (formerly Columbia Pictures) history. Its $334.2 million debut outside of North America from nearly 39,000 screens in 60 international markets is vital for a theatrical sector still reeling from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Encouraging facts: Western Europe brought in its $113 million, despite disruptions in movie distribution markets like Austria, Denmark, Ireland and the Netherlands due to new restrictions due to Omicron’s Covid-19 variant. The UK leads the region with a five-day opening of $41.4 million, followed by France ($17.8 million), Italy ($13 million), Germany ($11.4 million) and Spain ($10.4 million dollars).

Eastern European theaters added $26.9 million. First of all – 17.4 million dollars in Russia. They are followed by fairly high results in Ukraine ($2.4 million) and Turkey ($1.4 million).

The film grossed $79.5 million in Latin America. The opening weekend was the biggest in Mexican history with $32.4 million in 5 days. Other leaders in the region include Brazil ($17.9 million), Argentina ($6.8 million), Peru ($4.4 million), Colombia ($3.7 million), Ecuador ($3.7 million dollars) and Bolivia (1.5 million dollars).
