Overseas: Protagonist collected a nice $37.3 million in 47 foreign countries, including a No. 1 opening of $23.9 million in China, where the film’s grosses increased Friday through Saturday and into Sunday. $14.4 million was collected in Great Britain and $8.5 million in Russia. The studio celebrates its success in China, despite the fact that almost 20% of cinemas in the Chinese market remain closed. In previously open markets, Protagonist dropped collections by just 23% in its second weekend, including gains in Germany, Austria and Sweden.
