{"id":10132,"date":"2023-10-02T17:39:45","date_gmt":"2023-10-02T14:39:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cutinsight.com\/?p=10132"},"modified":"2023-10-02T17:39:42","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T14:39:42","slug":"video-kak-spilberg-risuet-svetom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cutinsight.com\/en\/video-kak-spilberg-risuet-svetom\/","title":{"rendered":"Video: How Spielberg paints with light"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A video has appeared on the Internet in which footage from Steven Spielberg\u2019s films has been edited, showing the director\u2019s high skill in working with light and shadow.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To create the four-minute video, footage from the films \u201cIndiana Jones and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cutinsight.com\/sam-e-krasyv-e-khram-tserkvy-y-monast-ry\/\">Temple<\/a> of Doom\u201d, \u201cEmpire of the Sun\u201d, \u201cJurassic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cutinsight.com\/naykrashchi-parky-ukrainy-iaki-varto-vidvidaty-vlitku\/\">Park<\/a>\u201d, \u201cSchindler\u2019s List\u201d, \u201cCatch Me If You Can\u201d, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cutinsight.com\/voyna-v-ukrayne-10-pravdyv-kh-fylmov\/\">War<\/a> of the Worlds\u201d, \u201cThe Adventures of Tintin\u201d was used. &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cutinsight.com\/fyl-m-pro-shpyonov-10-shedevrov\/\">Bridge of Spies<\/a>&#8221; and many others.<\/p>\n<p>Bright lighting is a very recognizable feature of Spielberg&#8217;s films. In most of the director&#8217;s films there are scenes with extremely intense lighting. It seems to absorb space. At the same time, the rays often cut through smoke, fog or dust, creating a special, emphatically cinematic picture.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Spielberg Light\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/254227552?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"696\" height=\"377\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>One of the typical examples of Spielberg&#8217;s approach to working with light is the scene from Close Encounters of the Third Kind in which a child opens the door of a house and encounters aliens.<\/p>\n<p>The director himself calls this shot one of the best in his career, noting that it is through the intensive use of light that simultaneously \u201ca sense of danger and hope\u201d is created.<\/p>\n<p>Expanding on the approach used in this scene, <a href=\"https:\/\/walkoffame.com\/steven-spielberg\/\" rel=\"nofollow  noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Spielberg<\/a> likes to create shots with dark silhouettes against a bright source of light. This evokes a feeling of special importance of the moment, drama and mystery. The best example is another iconic shot for Spielberg&#8217;s entire work &#8211; the flyby against the backdrop of the full Moon in E.T.<\/p>\n<p>The director also often uses the transition state from evening to night and from night to morning to create a dramatic and picturesque effect.
