The career of famous Las Vegas stand-up actress Deborah Vance may be going downhill. The director of the casino where she regularly performs plans to remove her appearances from prime time. To save her place, the girl has to urgently come up with new jokes. To do this, she teams up with a young comedy writer named Ava. The latter cannot find a job after a scandalous dismissal due to one insensitive tweet he made not so long ago. The actress and writer are taking on the task of creating new monologues for performances.
