Spider-Man: No Way Home debuted with an impressive $253 million in North America and a global total of $587.2 million worldwide. This is historically the third result from opening on the North American market (USA and Canada together).

This weekend, Spider-Man drew audiences to theaters like it hasn’t in at least two years and broke box office records.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is not only the most anticipated movie of the pandemic, but also the most anticipated since Star Wars: Skywalker. The Latin American region collected $79.5 million, including $32.4 million in Mexico, while Asia collected $74 million, led by South Korea, where the film opened with $23.7 million. In Australia, the picture collected about $18.7 million (the third biggest opening of all time), while in Eastern Europe, No Way Home collected $26.9 million, including $17.4 million in Russia ( the fifth highest total opening in history).

And of course, the film’s global launch is the best opening weekend in Sony (formerly Columbia Pictures) history. Its $334.2 million debut outside of North America from nearly 39,000 screens in 60 international markets is vital for a theatrical sector still reeling from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Encouraging facts: Western Europe brought in its $113 million, despite disruptions in movie distribution markets like Austria, Denmark, Ireland and the Netherlands due to new restrictions due to Omicron’s Covid-19 variant. The UK leads the region with a five-day opening of $41.4 million, followed by France ($17.8 million), Italy ($13 million), Germany ($11.4 million) and Spain ($10.4 million dollars).
