Miguel Vasquez turns popular cartoon characters into realistic 3D characters. As a result, SpongeBob and Patrick, the Mario brothers, and now Homer Simpson look like the products of their worst nightmares.
The artist has been working on original 3D models since 2015, but he became famous thanks to his specific manner of transforming popular cartoon characters into “realistic” figurines.
In fact, there is nothing realistic about them, he just converts the drawings into 3D, does high detail work and creates images in the spirit of Guillermo del Toro’s monsters.
Real success came to Vasquez when he took on the SpongeBob characters. Bob himself turned out to be a rather nice, square guy in short pants.

His friend Patrick, the starfish, looked much gloomier. Having become something of a “man”, Patrick turned into a real scarecrow. But tens of thousands of people subscribed to Miguel’s Instagram.

Now it’s the turn of perhaps the most popular animated character in history – Homer Simpson. Homer is basically a man. It would seem what problems might arise with “realism”. But if this “realistic” guy meets you on a deserted street, most likely you will cross to the other side.
