Artem Aleksandrovych Dovbyk is a Ukrainian footballer who plays as a striker for the Spanish club Girona and the Ukrainian national team. At Euro 2020, he became a hero, scoring the decisive goal in extra time of the match against Sweden, thanks to which Ukraine reached the quarterfinals of the European Championship for the first time in its history.
Artem Aleksandrovych Dovbyk was born on June 21, 1997 in Cherkasy. Now he plays for the club Girona (Spain) under number 9. The footballer also represents the interests of the Ukrainian national team under number 11. The athlete’s height is 189 cm, his weight fluctuates between 75-80 kg.

He was born in Cherkasy in an ordinary family. Since childhood, he showed interest in football. Already in his early years, his father noticed his talent, and one of Artem’s first toys was a football given to him by his grandfather. At the age of seven, he began training at a local sports school. The coaches noted his high level of physical fitness and often allowed him to play with older kids.
He entered the Cherkasy National University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports.
He began his professional career in 2014 at the Cherkasy club Dnipro, where he soon scored his first goal. His talent attracted the attention of major clubs, but his real career began with a move to Dnipro Dnipro in 2015.

Early stages:
• At Dnipro, Artem secured a place in the main team and became one of the best young players in Ukraine.
European stage:
• In 2018, he moved to the Danish club Midtjylland, where he became the champion of Denmark. Later, he played for another Danish club, Sønderjysk, with which he won the national Cup.
Return to Ukraine:
• In 2020, he returned to his homeland and signed a contract with Dnipro-1. In the Ukrainian Premier League, he became the top scorer and received many awards.
Spain:
• In the summer of 2023, Dovbyk moved to Girona (La Liga). Already in his first season, he became the team leader, scoring 11 goals in 18 matches and making 5 assists.

The 1/8 final match against Sweden became a turning point for Artem. In the 121st minute, having received a pass from Oleksandr Zinchenko, he scored a goal, which became the latest winning goal in the history of the European Championships.
