American cinematographer and director Jacob T. Swinney published a video in which he collected footage from the films nominated for this year’s Oscar for Best Picture.
With the announcement of the nominees for the major film awards on January 23, movie fans are eager to re-watch all of these films.
The video opens with a still from Jordan Peele’s Get Out. The film tells the story of horrifying discoveries, in the center of which is a black guy, Chris, while visiting the parents of his beloved.
The films nominated for Best Picture also include Christopher Nolan’s war action drama Dunkirk, which tells the story of the rescue of three hundred thousand soldiers during the Dunkirk evacuation. Joe Wright’s historical drama Darkest Hour also tells the story of the events of World War II.
The video also features excerpts from the films “Call Me by Your Name” by Luca Guadagnino, “Phantom Thread” by Paul Anderson, “The Secret File” by Steven Spielberg, “Lady Bird” by Greta Gerwig, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” by Martin McDonagh and “ The Shape of Water” Guillermo del Toro.
We will find out which of the nominees will receive the award for best film at the 90th awards ceremony, which will take place on March 4.
